Honda Civic Review

Those looking to secure themselves a practical and functional, yet incredibly great looking family car, could do a lot worse for themselves than picking up the critically acclaimed Honda Civic…

Although the Honda Civic is very much a useable, everyday workhorse of a small family car, it features superbly agile handling and a build quality that ensures it is able to stand up to all the demands of everyday urban driving.

Parents who are looking for an ability to condense all of their day to day transportation needs into one vehicle will also be pleased to learn that the Honda Civic comes with one of the largest boots in its class – big enough for school bags, shopping or (if you’re lucky enough) holiday luggage. While the boot boasts ample space for the rigours of everyday life, the Honda Civic has had some criticism sent its way for lacking rear seat space; those with older children may do well to consider some of the other small family cars within a similar price range. Despite this shortcoming, the space in the front of the car has had no such criticisms thrown its way.

The engine is one of the best on offer, with a1.8-litre petrol engine, which has excellent responsiveness, providing both strong acceleration and excellent in-gear flexibility. The Honda Civic is not as quiet as many would hope from a refined small family car, however, the engine is smooth and quiet enough to make sure that passengers will have a comfortable enough ride.

All models within the Honda Civic range come with twin front, side and curtain airbags, and are available in both three and five-door forms. Other goodies that Honda Civic purchasers can expect to see as standard include a clever trip computer, a CD stereo, climate control and alloy wheels.
