Car Donations: Why Would You Donate?
Make sure that this is the option you would like to go with when you donate a car. Many people choose to donate their vehicles that they no longer use, or can use to charities for the charities to get a little extra to run off of. The person who donates is also able to claim this on their taxes, receiving a little extra back from the original auction price it was sold for.
They take all car donations seriously, and want to make sure that you receive the best, market value price because if you do not then the charity does not get what they should get from the car after the fees and taxes have been taken out. Get what you need from the company who can get it for you without having to go far to get it since they pick up the donated vehicle for you. So there is no need for a drop off, and if you want the vehicle picked up before the time they gave you, you can call to have them get it sooner.
Find out how to donate your vehicle through this company when you visit them online at carshelpingamerica.org. This allows you all the information you need, and they will guide you through the whole process of donating if you need extra help to do so. Since it is free to you, you can give them the vehicle you are no longer in need of right away and not be charged anything out of pocket.

Car Repair Comparison Between Its Model And Manufacturer
When we buy our car, some of us choose to have a policy for repair but other may not as they would say that there is no need for them to have a car repair only if they take good care of their cars. They maybe right in some point but still, playing safe is better as we can’t avoid any circumstances and we can’t control the situation.This is mostly the common situation that a car owner is facing whenever a car needs repair. Since there are a lot of manufacturers and models nowadays, it’s sometimes hard to locate a repair shop that specializes in every car repair. And in some point, advertisements may be confusing and sounds sweet.A car manufacturer would always advice a car buyer to have a policy with them so it won’t be hard to have maintenance and a possible car repair whenever you needed to. But these may sound like an advertisement for us for we thought that they are only trying to sell their insurance policy. Well, this case is just a give a take relationship.They take our money by paying extra for the repair policy and coverage but we also have the advantage to have our car repair in good hands and we can say that the repair is specialize since they are your own manufacturer. In this case, we don’t have to look around for the best repair shop thus saving our effort, time, and less frustration during damaged.On the other hand, a business repair shop would encourage us to bring their car to them for maintenance and repair with a cheaper price. When you choose to have it that way, make it sure that the repair shop is not recycling any parts from their customers. You can make it sure by asking for a receipt every time they say that some parts must be replaced. Or another option is for you to have the parts bought yourself from any car spare stores to ensure quality of the spare and to make sure it’s new. But make it sure that you know what kind of spare you have to buy. It may vary from model to model and may not be compatible to all manufacturers.Just be wise to choose a good option at all time. If you think you have no idea about car repair, maintenance, and other car stuffs, you better have it covered under the manufacturer’s policy so it will never be a big hassle on your part. But if you feels like you can manage the repair and you can find a reliable repair shop, then you can do the trick. Just don’t think of the money for this case.Consider all the possibilities in the future, its not just about money, this is also about effort, time, frustration, and even savings in the future only if we choose the right decision.
Cheap Car Insurance Quote
If you are seeking a cheap car insurance quote there are recognized steps to take that will result in you obtaining the cheapest car insurance quote possible for your car and your circumstances. Many people honestly believe that auto insurance companies are doing their best to provide them with the cheapest quote they can, and trust them to do so. They are both right and wrong.
A company will provide you with a cheap quote if it is liable to make them money. That is the purpose of any company: to make money. They are not philanthropists and like any other company are in existence only to make money. If they feel that they can make more than the average quota of money from your premium then they will offer you a bit back.
Therefore, if you hear of somebody who has found a fantastically cheaper car insurance quote than you have been offered, then that is because their circumstances are different to yours. So what could be different? Perhaps they have never made a claim from previous policies. Perhaps their car is older than yours and they have declined collision and comprehensive cover. Perhaps their company have an agreement with the insurance company they deal with for their car fleet for cheap auto insurance quotes for employees. Perhaps . . .
There are so many perhaps’s that you are probably best to ignore the deals other people get and concentrate solely on what you can get. You should listen to their experiences with various ins companies, such as their willingness to pay out on claims or their speed in providing a courtesy car in the event of yours being damaged, but pay no attention to what they pay because their circumstances are different.
So what affects whether or not you can get the cheapest quote going? What are these circumstances that can make so much difference to whether or not you get a cheaper policy than the next guy or gal? They are basically common sense, and if you can’t work it out for yourself then you probably don’t deserve a cheap car insurance quote.
Do you have all the car safety features fitted in your car? Stuff like air bags, not only for you but for your front and rear passengers? Are their also air bags on the sides of the doors to protect you from side collisions? Do you have ABS braking that doesn’t lock when you hit the brakes, or a burglar alarm and window etching with your number plates? If so you can likely get your quote reduced.
Never accept the first quote given – that is Rule Number One in the book of cheap insurance seeker’s rules. Compare cheap car insurance and keep something up your sleeve, even if it costs you. If you agree to pay $500 deductible your premium cost will be reduced, but don’t tell them that till after your initial quote, or it will likely just be the same as if you didn’t mention it. $500 might seem a lot, but that’s your estimate of what you can afford to pay calculated against the likelihood of you having to pay it.
There are lots of other variables that you can use to reduce your premium such as dropping the collision cover and going third party, or simply that you are willing to switch your other insurances to the same company, such as house and travel insurance for example. How about simply buying it online: most companies offer a discount if you purchase your auto insurance online.
Whatever way you achieve it, a cheap car insurance quote should be easy to get if you know the right steps to take. Ins companies will give you a serious discount if they believe that you are less likely to make a large claim than the next guy.
Moving Your Car – Should You Ship It?
The idea of paying someone to move your car may seem somewhat moronic at first glance. After all, why would you pay someone to ship something that has wheels and you can drive yourself? Well, there are reasons.
Let’s say you are in the job market like most Americans these days. Miracle of miracles, you actually get an offer to work for a good company in San Francisco. You accept and have two weeks to move up there from San Diego where you now live. What do you do? Well, you either rent a U-Haul and move your stuff up or hire a moving company if you have a lot of junk…err, priceless assets. As to your car, you just have a friend or family member drive it on up.
Now let’s take the same scenario with a few changes. That new job is in Boston. Oh, and you have to start on Monday. Now what do you do? Well, you can either store those priceless items you have or have a moving company ship them. As for your car, well, things are problematic. You can’t drive it to Boston and make it in time unless you are willing to forgo sleep and drink waaaay too much coffee. You, my friend, have a time problem and this is where shipping a car comes in.
There are many reasons a person might want to ship a car, but two constantly come to the forefront. The first is water…big water. If you are moving overseas, you really don’t have any choice but to have your car shipped if you are going to take one at all. The second reason is time. Driving a car long distances takes time and few of us can afford to take off three to five days to do so. For better or worse, life is just to hectic these days. In such a scenario, shipping your car will cost you more in dollars, but save you money in time. This is why more and more people decide to simply ship their cars than drive them long distances when moving.

Living Backwards
Most of us live our lives backwards. As kids when we are growing up we keep wishing to be adults, by the time we are adults we wish we were kids again, till we reach old age when we remember our youth.
When in fact as children we should be carefree, but our society, peer pressure and parental guidance keeps pushing us to look forward “if you don’t get good grades… you will never be a ______”, doctor, engineer, accountant… you can fill in the blank.
As we grow up to be adults we look to our past more often than not, remembering all that was good in the past, family, friends, the warmth of a well-knit family unit, the laughter of close friends, the intimacy of youth. Spending more time with nostalgic remembrance rather than having a future forward mentality to secure a bright and prosperous future. The past is in the past, we should leave it there. Reveling in it does not change the future. Learning from it might, but being engrossed in it is not learning from it.
This mixed state of thinking, loooking to “what-might-have-been” makes us frustrated, depressed and often on edge with ourselves and with our lives. Leaving us with a void. This is the void that advertisers usually take advantage of – selling us things that we don’t need, will not use, nor be will these material things change our state of mind.
We start thinking if I “Have”, I will “Do”. Thus I will “Be”.
If I have a new house… a new car… a new phone… a flat scree TV… a…
I will do so many good things… do this… do that…
I will be a role model to others… an icon… someone to look up to…
The fallacy of this kind of thinking is that once you have a new house, a new car, a new phone or a new TV there is always someone else with a bigger house, a newer car, a fresher phone, or a bigger-flatter TV… and the downward spiral continues. The more you have the less it satisfies. Not to mean we should not have stuff – but more so that maybe we are going about it backwards.
The real lesson in life is to Be someone, who Does something and ends up having a lot of stuff. Hmm, having the necessary stuff.
So maybe it is time for us to Be… a role model, an inspiration, an achiever, a mover… Someone who Does… who inspires others, who enables others to achieve, who does charity, who does art, who does science, who just DOES.
Then maybe whatever we have, will not make us covet what someone else has. Because what we have will be just the right things for us to DO what we want to DO, and Be who we really are.

Accessories that Protect your Car

There are many accessories you can purchase to protect your car. Those mentioned here are just some of the most often chosen. Whether you are looking to protect the interior or exterior, measures taken to keep your car looking its best and at the same time insuring retention of the car’s top value will be highly beneficial when it comes time to trade it in or sell. Even if you are not looking at future values for sale, using accessories like new seat covers, floor mats or a car bra will make you proud to be seen in your car as well as the protection these accessories will provide.
The front-end car bra is an accessory that will provide protection for your car’s front end. Specially ordered for your car, the car bra is made to fit snugly and perfectly for maximum protection. Its value is in its ability to act as a guard from road hazards such as bugs, chemicals such as tar and gravel on roadways and from pitting damage on your automobile’s grill and paint surfaces. The bra, while having an important protective feature, also gives your car a classier appearance. Usually constructed of heavy vinyl and a firm padding underneath, the car bra will stand the test of time. Most car bras are easy to install and remove. The benefits in adding value, protection and a sleek look to your car are well worth the small investment of a car front-end bra.
Bug shields are yet another valuable protective piece you can add to your car. Modern bug shields are designed aerodynamically to not only compliment the look of your car’s front end, but they also maximize fuel usage. By not allowing a pushing type of air force against the car, aerodynamically made shields create an ease in air flow so that your car doesn’t have to use extra fuel to compensate for the additional pressure or work. Bug shields are great for protecting your car from road debris, excessive bug collection and chipping from stones or other road hazards.
A car cover is an essential accessory if you must leave your car outside in the harsh elements of the sun, rain or snow. It will protect your car from wear and tear and the hazards of extreme weather conditions when garaging or cover protection is not available. It should fit snugly around the normally exposed portions of the car. Car covers are usually made of heavy duty protecting materials that will keep the damaging weather elements away from the automobile’s painted surfaces and will protect from the above mentioned weather hazards. Car covers are especially valuable if you use them while shopping or when the car is parked anywhere someone or something can bump into the car and create paint or body damage.
Floor Mats are the perfect accessory to not only give your interior a new or more finished look, they are indispensable in the protection they provide against wear and tear on the floor carpet. You can purchase floor mats in most any variety of colors, styles, and designs. They are available in materials such as rubber and clear plastic to name a few. Floor mats can be made specific to your car or purchased at auto parts stores. The benefits to having floor mats cannot be overstated. They can aid in comfort when driving on long road trips, they protect from shoe damage in the acceleration area of the floor and they keep everyday dirt and grime from attaching to your car’s original carpet. A purchase of floor mats at nominal prices can give your car protection from years of floor or carpet damage in the car.
No matter what part of the world you live in, tinting your car’s windows can offer protection in many ways. Window tinting has long been known to reduce the heat coming into your car. Anyone that owns an automobile in the southwest will tell you that the sun’s heat (and damaging ultraviolet rays) is not only destructive, it is downright uncomfortable. So in these two ways, tinting can increase your comfort while driving and decrease fading or discoloration of the interior’s vinyl or fabric work. If you choose a safety film, you will get even more protection.
A safety film on your car’s windows has been known to reduce injuries to occupants from flying shattered glass in auto accidents. If you have a large object hit your windshield, safety film may deter the object from coming directly into your car and hitting any passengers. If you live in tornado or earthquake zones, this type of film can prevent injury as well by acting as a buffer between you and the shattered glass.
Lastly, but certainly not less important, seat covers have numerous benefits. Seat covers protect the material that covers the original fabric of your car’s seats. This is very important for owners that live in sun drenched areas of the world, work in conditions where your clothing is contaminated with dirt, grease, or other destructive materials and for those owners that participate in activities such as biking, hiking, or swimming (the chlorine alone is severely damaging if you are not fully dried off). Seat covers are not just about protecting, they can also provide a tailored and clean look to your car’s interior.
Your car will look well kept and well taken care of if you purchase seat covers before damage occurs. You can pull them off before selling or trading in your car for that eye-appealing look that says you the owner took very good care of the car. Sometimes a nice and fresh looking interior will sell a car even if the exterior is a bit worn.
While there are many other accessories out there for your car, the ones mentioned here will go a long way in giving you peace of mind. You will know that you have done what you can to insure that your car will look close to new even when it is ten years old. If you want to sell your car someday, you have applied accessories that will most likely bring you maximum dollar at selling or trade-in time. You can never lose by adding protective accessories to you car.

Tips To Help You Pay Less At The Pump

Car maintenance can be expensive, and the rising cost of gasoline in the United States can really drain, so to speak, the funds available for car maintenance and related costs.
According to Rich White, executive director of the Car Care Council, Loose or missing gas caps, under-inflated tires, worn spark plugs, and dirty air filters all contribute to poor fuel economy.
Here are some tips, courtesy of the Car Care Council, to help you save money on gasoline, even as the prices continue to climb.
Don’t drive aggressively. This can actually lower gas mileage by up to 33 percent on the highway and five percent on city streets, resulting in a cost of 7 to 49 cents per gallon.
Take care of your tires. A smart care maintenance tip in general, since driving with an under inflated tire is the equivalent of driving your car with the parking break on, and can cost you a mile for each gallon.
Watch out for worn spark plugs. Vehicles have four, six, or eight spark plugs, and these fire as much as three million times every on thousand miles, which creates heat, electrical, and chemical erosion. Replace your spark plug regularly for proper care maintenance, and gas conservation as well.
Change your dirty air filter. Air filters clogged with dust, dirt, and bugs cuts off the air and results in more gas than necessary being burned. This wastes gas, and causes the engine to lose power as well.
Watch those gas caps. Approximately 17 percent of vehicles, according to the CCC, have gas caps that are damaged, loose or missing, and this causes 147 million gallons of gas to vaporize each year.
Don’t idle excessively. Idling gets you zero miles to the gallon, and you really only need to warm up your vehicle for about one to two minutes.
Watch that speed. As your car’s speed increases, gas mileage decreases, and each mph over sixty results in an additional ten cents per gallon cost.
Lose some weight. By simply removing unnecessary items from your vehicle, you could reduce the weight by 100 pounds, which in turn will reduce your MPG by up to 2%, based on the percentage of extra weight relative to the weight of the vehicle.
Proper car maintenance is the best way to get the most out of your car, and to make sure that it remains fuel efficient. Don’t skip regular visits to the auto mechanic—the health of your car depends on them.

Confused About Car Care? Some Guidelines to Follow

Car care can be intimidating, often because people don’t know what to check on their vehicles – or when to check it – to keep them in good working condition.
A recent survey by the Car Care Council found that 38 percent of cars had low or dirty engine oil, more than 50 percent had low tire pressure and an alarming number of vehicles had not been properly maintained.
Being proactive about vehicle maintenance will not only keep your vehicle in good condition, but save you time and money as well. Here are some guidelines for what to check, and when, from the experts at Firestone Complete Auto Care:
* Every other fuel fill-up: engine oil and washer fluid.
* Every oil change: antifreeze, air filter and battery.
* Monthly: belts, brake fluid, hoses, power steering fluid, tire air pressure, tire tread depth and overall condition, and transmission fluid.
* Every six months: wiper blades.
* Annually: exhaust system.
* Replace when out or worn: lights, shock absorbers.
* Refer to vehicle owner’s manual: change oil, rotate tires.
Experts also recommend that drivers keep an emergency kit in their vehicles. This too can be confusing, as people don’t always know what to include in an emergency kit.
Here are a few items Firestone Complete Auto Care suggests you have to help prepare for unforeseen circumstances on the road:
* Jumper cables
* Flashlight and batteries
* Reflector
* Protective gloves
* Toolkit
* Flares and matches
* Gallon of water
* Nonperishable food
* Portable air compressor
* Auto Club membership card
* In the winter months: a shovel, bag of kitty litter or sand and a blanket.
With a basic car care checklist to help keep your vehicle running well and a comprehensive vehicle emergency kit, you can drive with confidence knowing that you’ll be prepared for any “bump in the road.”
